The “remake” of the game Silent Hill 2 is still in development and Bloober Team asks players to be a little more patient.

The studio shared an update on social media to reassure players that development on Silent Hill 2 was going well, but it will be a while before more is revealed.

“As Bloober Team, we are proud to be part of Konami’s plans for the Silent Hill franchise. Together with our partner, we are working diligently to ensure that the Silent Hill 2 remake achieves the highest quality,” reads a statement published on X.

“[…] We would like to point out that production is going smoothly and according to our schedule. We understand that many players around the world are eagerly awaiting news about the game, and we appreciate your engagement. However, we ask for a little more patience. Once Konami, the game’s publisher, reveals more information, we are confident the wait will be worth it,” the studio said.

At this point there is no release date for Silent Hill 2 or even a clear forecast regarding its release.

What is the Silent Hill 2 project?

Announced in October 2022, Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the 2001 classic. The original is a “survival horror” style classic and is considered one of the best games of all time.

The studio responsible for developing the remake is Bloober Team, which also developed the games Layers of Fear, The Medium and Blair Witch.

Masahiro Ito, creature designer of the original game, and Akira Yamaoka, composer of the original game, return to their roles for the remake, much to the delight of fans.

In October 2022, a “teaser” was published parallel to the project. The images don’t show any gameplay mechanics, but do provide a good look at the remake’s nifty upgrade and cutscenes. The excerpt even ends with an iconic character from the game!
