Silvio Santos prepared one of these surprises for the SBT audience this Saturday evening (17). The broadcast of the SBT Brasil news program ended early and made way for the carnival parade that the Tradição samba school in Rio de Janeiro organized in 2001 in honor of the communicator and businessman.
The club's transition by Marquês de Sapucaí brought back to television personalities who are no longer with us, such as Gugu Liberato (19592019) and Hebe Camargo (19292012). Since SBT used Globo's original broadcast (with the credit “images da internet”), the narration of the event was taken over by Cleber Machado and Gloria Maria, who died just over a year ago.
To your wishes of the moment.
“Silvio Santos is freaking out and demanding that the SBT repeat the Tradição Samba School parade that honored him in 2001,” joked Didigo Santana. “Alarm: The phone rang! Apparently Silvio Santos called SBT, asked to end SBT Brasil early and ordered a repeat of the 2001 Tradição parade. The exhibition bears the Globo logo,” noted the Ligado na TV profile.
“I scream that SBT is showing the traditional 2001 parade out of nowhere in good quality,” said Luis Filipi. “What about SBT, which is now showing the traditional 2001 parade in honor of Silvio Santos in full?” wrote Felipe Santtos on the social network.
“Out of nowhere, SBT took the newspaper off the air to broadcast the 2000 traditional parade and the Silvio theme ball. Details in the image quality (laughs). It's great to be Brazilian! Silvião must have watched the carnival with excitement this year and remembered, ma hey,” joked Paulo Lescaut.
There were also those who were confused by the change in programming. “I thought the Tradição Samba school parade paying homage to Silvio was an article about SBT Brasil, but no. It's a repeat of the same Globo parade from 2001, watermarks and everything. With stories by Gloria Maria and Cleber Machado. Shocked!” posted Thiago Marques.
“What is it that SBT is now showing a parade of the Carnival of Tradition in honor of Silvio Santos and pirating Globo's picture in the Caruda?” asked Rodrigo Santos. “I can't believe SBT is showing the Silvio Santos parade in 2001 with the VHS image,” noted Galber Duarte.
“Silvio Santos could easily turn on YouTube to remember his traditional parade in 2001. But he goes there and orders to immediately grab images from YouTube, with the Globo logo, its broadcast and everything, and orders them to be inserted into “national network of absolute nothing,” said Daniel Ferreira.
When contacted, SBT did not respond to the report's questions about the surprise exhibition at the time of writing. When you do this, it will be updated.
