Simon Pegg reveals the one thing Tom Cruise will NEVER do on camera

Simon Pegg has revealed the one thing Tom Cruise has vowed he’ll never do on screen as the pair return to the Mission Impossible franchise.

The 53-year-old actor joked that while his co-star doesn’t shy away from daring stunts in his action-packed roles, he’s always found it difficult to convey an authentic British accent.

The two reunite for the long-awaited Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which hits UK cinemas on July 10th.

Simon also recalled the hilarious moment when he was in a car accident during filming while Tom was in the passenger seat, very different from Hollywood star exploits.

He said, “I’m driving up that hill and director Chris McQuarrie says, ‘Look at Tom, look at a Tom.’ There are three cameras mounted on the car and I’m trying to figure out where I’m going in this damn expensive car and he says.” still: “Look at Tom, look at Tom, look at Tom!”

“I’m trying to figure out where I’m going and I just bumped into this huge rock, kind of went over there and smashed the car.”

Chris added: “What do you do if that happens?” Simon replied: “Laugh it’s not my car is it!” [all laugh]… I have Cruise in the passenger seat and like he’s jumping off cliffs on bikes, and I can’t even drive a car up a hill.”

Host Chris then asked the The World’s End star: “There must be something. What can you do better, there must be things…?”

Simon replied, “I’m better than him at accents, we play around a lot on set and to hear him try to put on a British accent it’s hilarious.”

“It’s somewhere between Dick Van [Dyke]”I mean, Tom Cruise can pretty much do anything, but he’ll never play a Brit.”

Simon then revealed that Tom is dying to meet his longtime pal Nick, with whom he has starred in three films.

He said, “He’s never met Tom and Tom’s kind of pissed off about that.” He’s like, “Why haven’t I met Nick Frost?” and I think Nick’s just being passive-aggressive, like, “Purgh, I will not meeting your new friend when you go and work with him.” “Anyone else, I won’t meet him… whoever he is.”

“No, he’s cool, we’re always there for each other and we always celebrate each other’s successes. My favorite thing to work with is Nick and I will continue to work with Nick but whenever I see him in anything I’m always so proud of him. ‘He’s the best.’

In the seventh Mission Impossible film, Ethan Hunk and his team take on their most terrifying mission yet: they must track down a terrifying new weapon threatening humanity before it falls into the wrong hands.

With control of the future and fate of the world at stake and dark forces from Ethan’s past on the rise, a deadly race across the globe begins.

When Ethan is confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, he must realize that nothing can be more important than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.

This comes after Tom opened up about why he and director Christopher McQuarrie shot the film’s most dangerous scene first.

In the scene, the actor is seen falling off a cliff on a motorcycle before activating a parachute that lands him safely on the ground as the motorcycle crashes.

Tom explained to Entertainment Tonight that the reason for filming the dangerous stunt first was to ensure the $200 million film wouldn’t be canceled from the start in the event of an injury.

“Well, we know, we either go ahead with the movie or we don’t — let us know on day one!” Cruise, who plays Ethan Hunt in the action film series, told the outlet.

The veteran Hollywood star continued, “Let us know what’s going to happen on day one: are we all moving forward or is it a big recast?”

The show business star injured his ankle during the production of ‘Mission: Impossible 6,’ which impacted filming.

The star actor said he was intensely focused on the motorcycle sequence, which required extreme physical precision.

“I trained and I was ready,” Cruise said. “You have to be razor sharp when you do something like that.”

“When preparing the film, it was very important that it was actually the first. I don’t want to drop that and shoot other things and have my mind elsewhere.’

He added of the take on the shoot, “Everybody was prepared — let’s just get it done.”
