Simone Williams: Australia’s top wrestler ‘Princess Aussie’ leaves the ring for her reality TV debut on The Traitors
She is considered one of Australia’s top wrestlers having competed in the US World of Women tournament.
But Simone Williams is leaping out of the ring to join the cast of season two of The Traitors, which premieres on Channel 10 over the weekend.
Williams, 33, who knows fans by her professional name “Princess Aussie,” will “play herself” in the real-life mystery show.
Based on the successful Dutch format, the Australian version of The Traitors, hosted by Roger Corser, enjoyed disastrous ratings last year.
For 2023, the format has been streamlined and will feature a mix of 20 civilian and celebrity contestants, including Below Deck Mediterranean’s Hannah Ferrier and former My Kitchen Rules star Ash Pollard.

All compete for a cash prize of up to $250,000.
Williams has lived in the United States for a number of years and said she’s excited to be back home to film the reality series.
“I can tell you now that I’m the most adaptable person on the show,” Williams said in an interview with Confidential.
“I don’t know a lot of things in Australia anymore, but that’s exactly why it was so much fun.”
“It was really nice to be back in Australia.”
Other cast members this season include Australian Survivor’s Luke Toki and House Husbands actor Gyton Grantley.
Motivational speaker Paul de Gelder and TikTok star Ian Zaro also play.
Despite the show’s appalling performance over the past year, Channel 10 remains optimistic about the future of The Traitors.
Paramount ANZ’s Daniel Monaghan told TV Tonight in January that due to the critical acclaim and worldwide success they were keen to support the competition series.

“The Traitors didn’t set our world on fire last year, but it was such a well done show… I think it deserves more attention,” he said.
Monaghan said The Traitors “deserved more audiences” and praised the production company for the way they put the series together.
“I think if you’re directing something like The Traitors and it’s not putting in as strong numbers as you think it deserves, you would look at the quality of the show and be like, ‘Can it be built on?’
“We will evaluate that…” especially with the performance [of the UK series]. It deserves more.’
