Singer, chef and art chronicler Xilia Hernandez has passed away, her daughter Amelia reported this Sunday to the Association of Art Historians (Acroarte), of which she was a founding member.
Xilia Hernandez is a versatile artist with an extensive career in the art world.
In the 70s he settled in Spain, seeking to build his musical career. There he recorded a long play and forged a relationship that allowed him to break into this square.
“Xilia Hernandez was an important member of this guild, a founder, a woman who left an important mark on the class she represented, an entrepreneur and a worker. Today we mourn her passing and ask the Lord for eternal rest for her. On behalf of the Executive Committee, we express solidarity with the relatives and express our condolences,” commented Emelin Baldera, President of Acroarte.
He ventured from the age of thirteen in gastronomy, becoming one of the most prominent culinary personalities in the Dominican Republic.
Their contribution could be evaluated in the “CocinArte” program, which was broadcast by Teleantillas for several years, which was printed in book format in 2001 with the same title.
From “CocinArte” he released the second volume in 2006, and between both editions he collects hundreds of recipes of different styles and easy-to-prepare dishes. Three years later he expands his culinary arts bibliography with the edition Mi amigo el arroz and in 2011 he remains immersed in this area with side dishes and more, meat, poultry, fish, seafood, bread and rolls and finally Starters, starters, soups, creams and salads. In 2002 Xilia distributed the video “CocinArte”, another compilation of her cookbook.
A little over a decade ago, he still occasionally performed on small stages in Santo Domingo. Over time, he created a romantic songbook that allowed him to conquer the most demanding music lover.
