Sir Paul discussed his musical influences in the foreword to his brand new 163-track music offering, The 7″ Singles Box, an exception of which was shared by The Sun.
He wrote, “After The Beatles had our first big hit in America, I started getting their Top 20 Soul Records mailed to 7”.
“It felt romantic, those songs coming all the way from America. I did it because I really liked the music, but it also meant I kept up with what was happening.
“I’ve always found it exciting to browse through the cases in a record shop looking for the next discovery” – something he still does in independent record shops in London to this day.

“Some of my happiest memories of buying 7-inch singles come from the Jamaican record store we used to go to when we vacationed in Montego Bay,” Sir Paul recalled.
The singer fondly spoke of having a “big adventure” every time he ventured to Tony’ Records on Fustic Road to find new music.
As well as being a hugely successful music star, Sir Paul was reported last month to have made £1.5million by investing in a plant-based chicken business and a music tech startup.
The superstar, who is reportedly worth £800million, founded MPL Ventures during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since backed a plant-based chicken company and a music technology start-up behind ABBA’s latest album Voyage, according to claims became.

“Paul also invested in a UK-based music technology startup called Audoo. The choices may be a little less traditional than the stock market, but it’s paying off for Paul.”
