In the clip, the star is seen taking matters into her own hands after getting tired of the state of the road.
He said: “I am fixing the street where I live, because no one can do it. Me and my comrades.
The camera then panned to show Rod’s team digging gravel and then showed a road full of large puddles filled with holes.
In the second video, hitmaker Maggie May said: “This is the state of the road near where I live in Harlow, and it has been like this for ages.
Putting to work: In two Instagram videos, the 77-year-old singer ditched the microphone in favor of a shovel and reflective vest as he hired his buddies to repair a damaged road.
“People crash their cars. The other day, an ambulance arrived with a blown tire. My Ferrari will not pass here at all!”
He continued, “So the boys and I thought we would come and do it ourselves. We’re plugging holes while millions and millions of pounds have been spent on the M11.”
The veteran singer, dressed in an Adidas tracksuit and green sneakers, captioned the post: “Making a living, patching up holes is good for the soul!”
The post received several messages of support from his followers, though one fan warned him not to hurt himself as they have tickets for his concert in June.

Men at work: The camera then panned to show Rod’s team digging gravel, and then showed a road full of large puddles filled with holes.
Before Rod rose to fame, he worked at the Highgate ceremony in north London. Despite reports that he worked as a gravedigger, he had previously denied the rumors.
Although he worked temporarily in the cemetery during his youth, his job consisted of marking out lots and doing various other manual jobs that did not include digging graves.
The singer previously spoke about the rumors: “There was a popular myth (I was happy to go with him) that I was once a grave digger. It’s a delightful, mysterious piece of backstory, but once again we must take action to get it off the record.”
Rod’s public outreach began after he dressed to the nines Thursday night when he and his wife Penny Lancaster, 50, attended Annabelle’s 70s fourth anniversary party.
The performer looked dapper in an embroidered blazer, while his special constable wife flaunted a very leggy silver sequined mini dress at a party dedicated to iconic nightclub Studio 54.
Rod and Penny made sure they were dressed to match the disco era, while hitmaker Maggie May shone in her silver and black floral print jacket and glittery embellished shoes.
Rod completed his look with a white shirt and several diamond-encrusted crosses.

Meanwhile, not to be outdone, Penny proved why she’s a successful model by showing off her endless stilettos in a hip-hugging mini dress.
The Loose Women star completed her silver number with white boots, a metallic clutch and sparkly drop earrings.
Penny also arrived earlier, dressed in an extravagant white fur coat, which she soon took off to pose for the cameras.
The stunning beauty completed her stunning look with voluminous, blow-dry locks and a glamorous makeup palette, including shimmery blue eyeshadow.
The A-list couple certainly had a great time at their favorite spot as they hung out with the likes of Naomi Campbell and newlywed Edward Enniful.
