The event, which is normally held outdoors, is being held indoors due to inclement weather.

The event allows the Sister Angèle Foundation to donate tens of thousands of dollars to organizations that support disadvantaged people.

The increase in prices in the grocery store gives the small market a meaning, explains Sister Angèle.

“I wanted to create this activity to help young people in the kitchen. This year and next year we already have 20 hotel schools where I will be taking exams. I will use Quebec products […] We help food banks. We donated 100,000 to the Sister Angèle Foundation [dollars] for 19 food banks.”

Every year 200 to 300 people benefit from the foundation’s services.

In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, a volunteer from the nonprofit says “the need is great.”

“We have big plans when it comes to food because there is a huge shortage of chefs in all areas of food,” she says.
