“The death toll from child famine has risen to six martyrs due to drought and malnutrition. “We call on international institutions to take immediate action to prevent the humanitarian catastrophe in the north of the Gaza Strip,” said the Health Ministry spokesman.
The health facility reported the deaths of two children as a result of dehydration and malnutrition at the Al-Shifa medical complex in Gaza City, northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the deaths of four children due to malnutrition and dehydration were reported at Kamal Adwana Hospital in northern Gaza.
The medical facility also reported the existence of seven other children who are in serious condition and pose a threat to their lives.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, also said that the international community faces a moral and humanitarian test to stop the genocide committed by the occupation.
The United Nations Palestine Refugee Agency (UNRWA) said the humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza had no borders and disease was rampant while food production had come to a standstill.
He also argued that more than a quarter of water wells were destroyed and famine was looming, and that there were a million children suffering trauma every day.
