SBT announced the hiring of Benjamin Back. Six months after his dismissal, the presenter returns to the station to lead a weekly show. Previously, he presented the preludes to the games for which the station had broadcast rights alongside Arena SBT.

The format of the show and details such as the day and time of broadcast are not yet known. It is also unclear if it is a sports project or if it is more focused on entertainment, which has always been the presenter’s wish.

Benja is starting his third assignment at SBT. The first of these happened in 2003 when he was working as a commentator for the Gold Cup. On Monday, from October 2020 to April this year, he was “the face” of sport on the São Paulo channel.

“Due to a cost restructuring, Benjamin Back is leaving SBT. “The doors for new projects in the future remain open,” the broadcaster said at the time.

Benjamin Back’s work on the station was characterized by the Arena SBT show, which he hosted every Monday at 11:45 p.m. There the journalist was accompanied by commentators Mano, Emerson Sheik and Cicinho.

During his first two months at the network, he shared the work of hosting Fox Sports programs, but left the Disney Group channel because he disagreed with the exclusivity requirement. The journalist also maintains a YouTube channel, Canal do Benja, and interviews guests on the Benja Me Mucho podcast.

The reformulations at SBT were the result of a major change in the station’s leadership. Silvio Santos’ third daughter, Daniela Beyruti, recently took over as vice president of the channel, a position previously held by general manager José Roberto Maciel.
