“Hysterical Screaming Like…King Kong in the Jungle”
Mr Sanderson claims Ms Paltrow descended the beginner’s slope of the Bandana Run on Flagstaff Mountain “out of control”, according to Court TV.
He claims she hit him so hard that he passed out. At a press conference in 2019, he said that just before the collision, he “heard this just hysterical screaming like … King Kong in the jungle or something.”
He said at the time that he thought the speed at which Ms Paltrow allegedly approached him might explain the extent of his injuries. “A little little bullet can make a big hole,” he said, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

The man who skied with the movie star was Eric Christiansen. First, he and the Deer Valley Resort Company were named in the petition. They were later removed when a judge narrowed the dispute down to the collision and between Ms Paltrow and Mr Sanderson, removing the hit-and-run issue from the dispute.
The ruling meant that the negligence suit has now been filed against Ms Paltrow for allegedly causing the crash, while what happened afterward is barred from prosecution, KSL reported.
“No one with knowledge of Ms. Paltrow’s post-collision actions claims to have observed Paltrow behaving recklessly,” the judge wrote in his order. “Even if you interpret it in the most favorable light [Sanderson]the undisputed facts do not support his contention that Paltrow’s post-collision actions were likely to result in significant damage, that they were grossly unreasonable or an extreme departure from usual care, or that they involved an obvious and high degree of danger.

Has anyone else seen what happened?
“A Deer Valley ski instructor who had coached Ms. Paltrow but did not see the fall skied over, saw the injured Sanderson and skied away, falsely accusing Sanderson of causing the fall,” the complaint reads .
Ms. Paltrow, on the other hand, claims her instructor actually witnessed the collision.
The rule of hills in Utah is that those in front of you have the right of way and those coming from behind must give way to others. Both Mr. Sanderson and Ms. Paltrow claim they were further down the mountain.

What is Mr. Sanderson claiming?
Terry Sanderson, 76, says the movie star and Goop CEO was the one who crashed into him with such force that he was left with “permanent traumatic brain injury, four broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of zest for life, what was left emotionally was distress and disfigurement,” according to Law & Crime.
Mr Sanderson argues that Ms Paltrow is essentially guilty of the ski version of a hit-and-run. In his 2019 complaint, he alleges that after the collision, she “got up, turned and drove away, leaving Sanderson stunned in the snow and badly injured.”

What does Paltrow say happened?
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s day on the slopes in Park City, Utah was cut short seven years ago when she had to take some time to rest after colliding with another person coming down the hill.
As she was climbing the hill on February 26, 2016, another skier rammed her from behind. She suffered minor injuries, for which, she says, the man immediately apologized.
According to her, Terry Sanderson, 76, a retired optometrist, said he couldn’t remember exactly what happened after the “full-body hit.” But for Ms. Paltrow, the incident is as clear as day.
His version of events is slightly different.
