A dog named Sundae is affectionate, affectionate, and loyal (traits every pet has), but one thing he’s not: stupid. Nobody can trick this handsome guy, not even to take medicine.
A few years ago, Sundae was adopted by Marina Rachael and her family at Hearts & Bones Rescue in New York, USA. The dog is healthy but suffers from an allergy that sometimes forces him to take medication to keep it under control.

This is where the family’s dilemma comes in: convincing him to take the blessed medicine. On the first few tries, Marina mixed the pill into her food, but Sundae, clever as he is, scraped the plate, leaving the medicine behind.
“The first time we put the pill in his food, he looked at us like, ‘This tastes bad. No thanks,” Marina told The Dodo.
But the family did not give up and mixed the medicine with their favorite snack in vain.
“We tried to hide the pill in his bowl of treats but he still walked away when he found it, like, ‘I didn’t ask for it.

Sundae understood that the family was trying to force him and: “On the third try, he basically trained himself to look for the pill. He took his kibble and laid it on the ground piece by piece until he found the pill then he would go back to eat.” . See if I can?!
This pet knows very well how to show when it doesn’t want something, doesn’t it? If you do not want to take the medicine, find a way to dispose of it. And when he doesn’t want to do something, he doesn’t bark or growl, he just sits and stares at you until you understand that he doesn’t want to.

The way was to be creative and come up with an ingenious plan for the dog to take the medicine. And what if? Marina put two medicines in the pot, one on top and one on the bottom. So Sundae removes the first one (thinks it’s clever), but he doesn’t know about the existence of the second one and eats it.

Sundae finds (and removes) the first pill and is forever convinced that he won the battle. So take the medication whenever you need it.
“He never took it,” Rachael said. “It’s a method I use whenever he needs medication.”
