The knife-wielding thug who provoked a violent confrontation with the police was only stopped after being hit by a patrol car and was imprisoned.
Mobile phone footage taken by a neighbor shows Ian Davy, 37, rushing at police with a knife in his hand, another sticking out of his pants on Quebec Drive in East Kilbride on September 1 last year.
The officers were called to a residential street in Lanarkshire around 6:00 pm after terrified residents spotted him with two blades in his pants.
The boy even told the driver of one police car that he was “going to die” by hitting the car window several times with a blade.
The officers attempted to spray him with a surfactant inactivating agent to end the incident, but it had no effect on him.
During the confrontation, when he constantly approached each officer with a knife in his hand, Davy slipped on the grass.
He tried to get up, but the officer in the squad car quickly took this as an opportunity to lash out.
Davy was hit by a police car and fell to the ground.
Other officers then jumped at the opportunity to grab him and arrest him.
Police said he was taken to Wishaw General Hospital in Wishaw, north Lanarkshire as a precaution after his arrest, but was not injured.
Davy of East Kilbride appeared via video link from HMP Barlinnie in Hamilton Sheriff’s Court and admitted to eight assault charges last September.
He also admitted to two charges of threatening and abusive behavior and possession of a blade.
Sheriff Thomas Millar delayed the sentence until next month for the reports and took Davy into custody.

He said: “The accused started running towards various officers, rushing towards them with a knife in hand, trying to stab them.
“Each time the officers managed to evade.
“PAVA sprays were fired, but they had no effect, and police batons were also pulled out.
“When the defendant tried to run up to one of the officers, he slipped and stumbled on the grass, and the constable was driving the police car at low speed.
“When the accused got to his feet, he made contact with him and pushed him back to the ground, whereupon the officers pounced on him and secured his arrest.”
Jackson Bateman defensively said, “He’s realistic about what’s ahead of him.”

After he was charged with assaulting officers in September 2021, Chief Superintendent Alan Waddell, commander of the Lanarkshire Police Department, said: solution. subdue the man with low-speed contact with a police car.
