Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell enters hospice care

The singer of the popular rock group Smash Mouth, Steve Harwell, has been suffering from numerous health problems for several years and is now undergoing palliative care.

This is reported by CBS News, citing the artist’s manager, Robert Hayes, who confirms that Mr. Harwell is receiving end-of-life care at his home.

“My only additional comment would be that I hope people respect the privacy of Steve and his family during this difficult time,” Mr. Harwell’s representative said.

According to TMZ, the singer received visits from his loved ones over the past three days to say his final goodbyes.

56-year-old Steve Harwell is best known for the cult songs “All Star”, “I’m a Believer” and “Walking on the Sun” by his group Smash Mouth, which he co-founded in 1994.

He struggled with health problems for many years, including cardiomyopathy diagnosed in 2013, for which he was hospitalized in 2017, and liver failure.
