The thirteenth edition of the Ecuador 2023 Chocolate, Cocoa and Coffee Show is taking place this weekend in Quito with the exhibition of the most diverse variants of these products, from beers, liqueurs and energy bars to moisturizers and soaps.
Everyone is present at the meeting, which takes place at the Quorum Paseo San Francisco Convention Center in the Cumbayá neighborhood, from well-known brands like Paccari or República del Cacao to local producers.
There is also a museum detailing the history and products of cocoa, a key element of Ecuadorian exports and therefore a source of employment for many families.
In addition to the fair of innovations that ends this Sunday, June 4th, three competitions are planned to select the best cups of chocolate and coffee, and the chocolate that best summarizes Ecuador.
At the same time, twenty activities such as tastings, theoretical debates and workshops for children will be carried out, reported the Franco-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organizer of the event.
The President of this institution, Bayardo Poveda, underlined the importance of the meeting given the special importance that Ecuador has for France as a producer and because of its relationships with prestigious chocolate companies.
Topics covered in the conferences include coffee and cocoa export challenges, cooperatives, added value, diversified farms and designations of origin.
As on previous occasions, between seven and eight thousand people are expected to attend the hall, which is supported by Pichincha Prefecture and the Ministries of Agriculture and Livestock, Manufacturing, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries, among others.
