MADRID, June 28 (RHC) The intensity of the sun’s rays has diminished in Spain in recent hours as smoke has arrived from Canada, due to a hundred fires ravaging the forests of that country.
A phenomenon that, however, did little to mitigate the high temperatures of the first major heat wave that hit the Iberian country.
The cloudy but whitish sky is the general reflection of the smoke coming out of Canada, which is much more pronounced in the Spanish Atlantic archipelago of the Canary Islands, particularly the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
An addition to the haze as the dust comes from the Sahara and is less common this year for the time being. The most important consequence is the deterioration of air quality with consequent health effects and poor visibility.
In addition, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), from this Thursday a mass of colder air coming from the Atlantic will bring back some freshness to the Iberian country.
Anyway, the Aemet showed during the day today that the thermometers stay above 40 degrees, especially in Andalusia, and above 30 degrees after midnight. (Spring: Latin Press).
