“Dune” actor Timothée Chalamet returned to “Saturday Night Live” after the end of the SAG strike to promote his upcoming film “Wonka.”

Following the release of Britney Spears’ highly anticipated new memoir The Woman in Me, fans took to social media to share how much they enjoyed listening to the audiobook narrated by Michelle Williams.

Now “SNL” is making fun of the slew of celebrities who could have auditioned to narrate the raunchy book.

“I’m beyond humbled that my book ‘The Woman in Me’ hit No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list, to say the least,” actress Chloe Fineman, who plays Britney, said on “Saturday Night Live.” ” Sketch. “My audiobook is being read by the amazing Michelle Williams, but she wasn’t the only one who wanted to read it.”

The celebrities on the list? Allison Janney (Heidi Gardner), Timothée Chalamet (Fineman), Martin Scorsese (Chalamet), Steve-O (Mikey Day), John Mulaney (Sarah Sherman), Natasha Lyonne (Fineman), Julia Fox (Fineman), Jada Pinkett Smith ( Ego Nwodim), Neil deGrasse Tyson (Kenan Thompson), Ice Spice (Punkie Johnson) and many others.

As comedic as the sketch may have been, Spears’ manager wasn’t happy about “SNL” doing a parody of his client’s book.

“Wow. “The writers of SNL are getting worse,” Cade Hudson shared on social media, according to Deadline via Pop Crave screenshot of his reaction on Instagram. “No wonder you all reached out to me about getting Britney on the show… SNL is on life support.”

Hudson continued: “Y’all are pathetic and that Chloe (Fineman) is not funny. Did you find her on Craigslist or something?”

Hudson’s Instagram account is currently private. USA TODAY has reached out to Hudson for comment.

In her memoir, “The Woman in Me” (Gallery Books, 288 pp., out now), Spears, 41, describes the unrelenting drama of her life from triumphant performances, severe depression, family betrayal, her harrowing 13-year conservatorship and recent return to the charts with Elton John.

It is an enlightening journey that is often deeply sad. But Spears, who describes herself as someone who hid in closets as a child but also found herself in the spotlight at school concerts, tells her story — scars and all.

In its first week, 1.1 million copies of Spears’ memoir were sold in the US alone.

“I have poured my heart and soul into my memoir and am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support,” Spears said in a statement released Nov. 2 by Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster , has been published.

Sales figures include pre-orders, print sales, e-books and audiobooks. “The Woman in Me,” released Oct. 24, was praised by critics as a riveting account of her rise to global fame and her ongoing struggles, including her revelation that she had an abortion more than 20 years ago while dating Justin Timberlake was.

On release day, Spears posted on Instagram that her book had become “the best-selling celebrity memoir.” It’s not even the best-selling memoir of 2023 so far.
