Many citizens regret having paid high amounts for snow removal this winter.
Between December and February, Montreal experienced 47 days above freezing. There was no real snowfall in the metropolis last month. Temperatures around 10 degrees are expected in Montreal this week.
The city of Montreal conducted just two snow dumps this winter, when it normally does five or six a year.
A Laval resident who claims she paid nearly $500 for her snow removal service realizes it wasn't worth it this year.
“I could have done it myself,” she said.
“I paid nothing or almost nothing,” says another citizen.
Still, the small amount of snow that fell this winter represents certain benefits for customers, a snow plow says.
“There will be a little breathing space. The prices for snow removal had risen significantly. People were breathless, companies were breathless with all these increases,” explains the president of Sig-Nature snow removal, Jean-Luc Sigouin.
