The proliferation of the REV G5 platform introduced last year, the redesign of the backcountry models, the introduction of the turbocharged two-stroke engine in a trail model, the revision of model nomenclatures and the introduction of the first all-electric snowmobile in the range – here’s the overview What to expect at Ski-Doo in 2024.
Introduced last year, the REV G5 chassis can now be found in certain models with the 850 E-TEC engine, across the entire 900 ACE family and in several models with the 600R E-TEC engine. In this case, the upgrade required a new motor mount, a fourth motor mount, better pulley alignment, optimized power transfer and increased belt durability.
We also added LED headlights. The clutch cooling system was also revised and the air inlet relocated. We have also reduced the noise level for the driver and installed a new clutch guard with noise protection. In addition, the drive shaft is easier to remove. The housing no longer needs to be disassembled, which simplifies rail replacement.
Here are the new models now equipped with the REV G5 chassis: Backcountry, MXZ, Renegade and Grand Touring.
MXZ SERIES
The MXZ Engineers have also introduced a water-methanol mixture injection system to ensure maximum performance is maintained – an industry first. This exclusive blend from BRP is housed in a 1.2 liter tank behind the seat. A series of sensors and an algorithm managed by the electronic control unit determine when injection is required.

The REV G5 chassis comes from the X-RS Competition family of models, including chassis and suspension reinforcements. The starter is a recoil starter and the SHOT system is available. This model will be offered in limited quantities for 2024.
While still in the MXZ series, we completely redesigned the mission of these snowmobiles to make them more efficient over bumps. The steering column has been moved forward on all models to make driving while standing easier. The Blizzard sub-series returns in 2024, this time with a set of the basic version, now called Adrenaline.
Apostasy
With the exception of the sports version, all other models in this range make the jump to the REV G5 platform with a new wide fairing. With the exception of the models with the Enduro package, which are still offered with the E-TEC 800R and 850 engines. All others are equipped with the 4-stroke engine.
The steering column has been moved rearward to ensure better comfort during trail driving. The Enduro package models return with the pre-assembled Ice Ripper XT Pilot rail.
BACKCOUNTRY AND FREERIDE
The Backcountry model has undergone an upgrade to improve trail performance. The rear suspension has been redesigned, with the new cMotion X based closely on the tMotion XT introduced last year in the Summit X with the Expert package. For greater driving precision, especially on bumps, dual pivot steering has been added to the X and X-RS models. For the MXZ X-RS and Renegade X-RS models this year we are offering a new braking system inspired by that of the 600 RS circuit. The new brake rotor has a larger diameter of 220 mm. There’s also a new four-piston Brembo brake caliper for more power and feedback. The brake lever is adjustable.
In 2024, BRP has further developed the freeride mandate so that this mountain snowmobile better meets the expectations of aerobatic pilots. The tMotion XT rear suspension was added, a 15-inch track instead of the previous 16, to ensure better maneuverability and increased speed. Pilot DS 4 skis have been added to this new version.

There is also an upgrade to the shock absorbers, which now have a diameter of 40 mm, instead of 36 mm last year. They are equipped with firmer settings, with a 40% increased compression ratio, giving the snowmobile better performance on bumps and jumps.
This season, BRP engineers developed the first fully electric snowmobile in the series, the Grand Touring Electric. As of this writing, production has just begun. It will not be sold to the general public this season but is intended for rental centers where enthusiasts can discover it.
