Soap opera “Plus belle la vie”: the body of actor Marwan Berreni was found hanging – TVA Nouvelles

The body of Marwan Berreni, one of the actors in the hit series “Plus belle la vie”, was officially identified by the French justice system on Thursday, more than two months after his disappearance.

Genetic analysis of a body found hanging in Beaujolais (central France) last week confirmed that it was indeed Marwan Berreni, the Villefranche-sur-Saône prosecutor’s office said on Thursday in a press release sent to AFP.

A bag containing the papers of the actor, known for the role of lawyer Abdel Fedala in the soap opera between 2009 and 2022, was found on October 12 in an uninhabited farm in Corcelles-en-Beaujolais.

The initial results of the autopsy were “consistent with death by hanging,” said the prosecutor, specifying that “the investigation is still ongoing.”

In August, an investigation into “disturbing disappearances” was opened because the actor gave no sign of life after a traffic accident in which he may have been involved.

On the evening of August 3, a 37-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle near a nightclub in Mâcon (central France). Due to multiple broken bones, she was completely unable to work for 28 days. The driver of the vehicle fled.

Two days later, a 4X4 car was discovered in the town of Fleurie, around fifteen kilometers further south, “which may probably correspond to the vehicle involved in the accident”.

According to sources familiar with the case, the car belonged to Marwan Berreni, who lived nearby.

The filming of “Plus belle la vie” was supposed to begin without Marwan Berreni. They continue at the end of October and mark the return of the longest soap opera ever produced in France, less than a year after the last episode was broadcast on France 3.
