Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge are becoming parents.
The model revealed to Vogue on On Thursday, she became pregnant with the couple's first child, a girl.
She wrote on Instagram alongside a picture from the magazine's photoshoot: “Our hearts are full of love! I'm so grateful for all your support! I can’t wait for the next phase of my life.”
Richie, who is around six months old, told the magazine she kept the news secret to “protect” her place.
“Pregnancy is really scary,” she explained. “I didn’t realize you had to reach so many milestones and take so many tests. For me it was really important to protect our mental health and space as a couple.”
Richie said both she and Grainge were shocked to find out they were having a daughter.
“We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a real shock,” recalls the 25-year-old. “My lifelong dream is to have a daughter [though]and Elliot is really looking forward to a girl too.”

The model has previously covered her bump with big coats and chunky sweaters, but now that the news is out, she's looking forward to having fun with her wardrobe.
“Now that we're announcing it, I have so many ideas,” she said, adding, “Now that I can spread my wings and fly, I'm about to have a lot of fun with it.”
Richie and Grainge, 30, made their relationship public in early 2021.

The pair “started out as friends,” the fashion designer explained to Who What Wear in an August interview.
“When we started being romantic, he just made me feel different,” recalls Lionel Richie's daughter. “It was a feeling of security. It was a feeling of being truly valued. When we met, I knew he was my husband.”
The music manager got down on one knee in April 2022 when the fashion designer debuted her engagement ring on Instagram.

“Forever isn’t long enough,” Sofia gushed in her celebratory post.
A year later, the duo walked down the aisle and tied the knot in France with Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz and other high-profile guests.

Before Sofia's relationship with Grainge, she was often in the headlines for her three-year romance with Kardashians star Scott Disick.
Sofia was frequently photographed with Disick and Kourtney Kardashian's three children – Mason, Penelope and Reign – before she and the Talentless creator called it quits in 2020.

While her father, Lionel Richie, 74, expressed his reservations about Sofia's connection to Disick when they were together, the American Idol judge recently told Access Hollywood that Grainge has his stamp of approval.

“I love Elliot,” Lionel gushed in April. “I've known him since he was 12…It was one of those things where I didn't have to go back and check on the kid. I know who it is.”
Still, Lionel felt like Elliot was “fainting” when he called the “All Night Long” singer and asked for Sofia's hand in marriage.
“I thought he was going to pass out, but he survived,” Lionel joked. “They are so much in love, so all I can say is: This is what you really want as a father.”
