A partial solar eclipse will form on the morning of October 25, 2022. The event, which will be the last of its kind this year, will be visible in parts of Europe, western Asia and northeast Africa, but not in Brazil. However, it will be possible to observe the phenomenon via live streams made available by astronomical observatories on YouTube. Check out how to watch the October 25 solar eclipse online in real time and find out the start time of the event.

How does a solar eclipse occur?
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes between the earth and the sun while orbiting the planet. This placement prevents sunlight from reaching Earth and makes a bright day dark due to the moon’s shadow cast by the sun at that location. Anyone standing in this shaded area can see the eclipse. According to NASA, there is a solar eclipse somewhere on Earth every 18 months that lasts only a few minutes.
The solar eclipse on October 25 is considered “partial” as the stars will not fully align. This means that the moon’s shadow is projected onto a small portion of our planet’s surface. In addition to this type, there is the total solar eclipse, when “day becomes night,” and the annular solar eclipse, when a luminous ring (part of the sun) appears around the moon.
Where will the October 25 solar eclipse be visible and when will it begin?
The eclipse will begin this Tuesday (25th) at 05:58 (Brazilian time) and will be visible first in Iceland. The full phenomenon will last around four hours, but its peak, which lasts a few minutes, will occur around 8am. Due to the position of the stars, each region of the planet will experience the event with different levels of insolation. The event can be seen from cities like London, New Delhi and some regions of Russia in this country solar irradiance will reach 79%.
This is how you can follow the solar eclipse of October 25 online
The eclipse will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel of the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London. The event page is now live (youtube.com/watch?v=2FKh2xLo4Ek) and the broadcast will start at 6:05am (Brazilian time). It will also be possible to follow the eclipse through the “Time and Date” channel, specialized in solar eclipses. On this page (youtube.com/watch?v=0sx_vuKEGlY), the event starts at 5:30 am, also in Brasília time.
When watching a solar eclipse live, NASA warns never to look directly at the sun as it can permanently damage your eyes and vision. Appropriate equipment is required to safely observe the event. The next total solar eclipse will take place in April 2024.
