Author and columnist Aviva Komplas, who led the Israel Permanent Mission to the United Nations team and assisted thenAmbassador Ron Prosor, described the procedures Israel had put in place to receive people abducted by Hamas following the release agreement.

“An IDF soldier has been assigned to escort all released child hostages back to Israel.

If a child asks where mom or dad is, the soldiers were instructed to say, “I’m sorry, honey, I don’t know.” My job is to get you to Israel, to a safe place where the People you know can answer all your questions.”

“Some of the children have no parents to return to,” Aviva wrote on X, formerly Twitter, referring to those whose country was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7.

According to her, the hospitals that will receive the hostages have deployed medical teams to provide appropriate treatment.

“Doctors will conduct careful and thorough physical examinations of women and children.

They will search for and document signs of torture, rape or other war crimes.

If evidence of rape is identified or the hostage speaks about it, appropriate professionals will be called in to assess whether it would be possible to interview the woman and collect evidence without retraumatization.”
