  • Taylor Swift just announced a 2023 stadium tour.

  • Some fans are signing up for Capital One credit cards to get early access to tickets.

  • Swift has been working with Capital One since 2019, so some fans have requested tickets even earlier to gain access to exclusive merchandise.

Taylor Swift just announced the 2023 US leg of the Eras Tour, and superfans are taking extra action to snag tickets.

In addition to waiting in virtual lines To for the verified fan presale on Ticketmaster, some Swifties noticed that Capital One credit and debit cardholders are getting early access to tickets a few days before they go on sale to the general public.

Hundreds of fans have posted on social media claiming Capital One cards, while others are celebrating they already have them. Capital One declined to comment on how many applications have been received since the tour was announced.

Mollie Cahillane, who told Insiders she’s been a Taylor Swift fan for over 10 years, opened up her Capital One card about eight months ago amid suspicions of an upcoming tour and knowledge that Swift has been working with Capital One.

Some, like Cahillane, were ahead of the game and already had cards. Others sent in an influx of credit card applications on November 1st. Dan, a fan who has lived in New York City since 2008 and has been a “hardcore fan” since 2014, said it was a “no-brainer” to apply for a card.

“I’m into the credit card points game,” he told Insider, considering the Capital One Venture X card before settling on the Savor One Rewards because of the dining rewards and lack of an annual fee.

Swift’s previous tours have sold out quickly and fans are determined not to miss this time.

Lucy, 20, from Dallas, Texas, told Insider she’s doing everything she can to see Taylor Swift for the first time, including opening a Capital One Card.

“I really wanted to make sure I had a chance to get in the presale queue and get tickets,” she said, but she was looking for a credit card anyway.

Other fans shared similar stories on social media.

A genre of TikTok videos advising fans on how to choose which credit card to open and use to purchase tickets also appeared within the same 24-hour period.

Taylor Swift and Capital One first teamed up in 2019 for a multi-year deal ahead of the release of her album Lover. Since then, Capital One cardholders have had access to exclusive merchandise and pre-sales before album drops. Swift has been featured in a new Capital One ad that will feature “cameos from Taylor Swift’s eras” and “Easter eggs to reveal for fans,” the company said in a statement to Insider.
