Someone is injured in an armed attack in Ville-Marie

A man was found injured after an armed attack in Ville-Marie West, Montreal, on Saturday night.

The 911 call was made around 8 p.m. Saturday to report that a person had been injured to the upper body, likely by a sharp weapon, according to Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) spokesman Julien Levesque.

The 25-year-old man was found conscious near the intersection of Sainte-Catherine Street West and Atwater Avenue. He was treated by the Urgences-santé services and transported to a hospital while he was conscious; his life is not in danger.

A security perimeter was established to allow analysis of the scene. No arrests were made at this time.
