Jonas had already filed for divorce from the actress earlier this month.

The couple, who married in 2019, share daughters Willa and DJ, one of them.

In documents seen by , Turner claimed Jonas had refused to return the children’s passports, effectively preventing them from returning to the UK.

The filing states the exes met on September 17 to discuss a previously planned trip to the UK with their children, scheduled for September 20, but Jonas allegedly neither handed over the passports nor the Children sent to Britain alone.

“Based on the father’s express representations that he will not return the children to England and will not return the children’s passports to the mother, the mother lodged her application for return under the Hague Convention with the Central Authority for England on September 20, 2023 submitted. “Wales demands the children be returned to England,” the filing says.

She added that the move to the UK was not unexpected as the couple had reportedly planned to spend an extended period of time there in the near future.

According to Turner, she and the children were expecting to accompany Jonas on his US tour with the Jonas Brothers, and when it came to an end, the whole family had planned to travel to the UK and stay in a rented property near her parents’ home to live.

She claimed the move was the start of a full-time life in the UK and the couple had agreed to bring their children there as their eldest, Willa, prepared to go to school.

They reportedly signed a contract for the property in July and planned to complete the sale in December this year.

Last year, Turner and Jonas put their Miami mansion on the market after previously purchasing it for $11 million.

They sold the property for a profit in August for $15 million, after only lowering the asking price by $2 million, suggesting they may have been trying to sell it quickly.

In her filing, Turner also disputed Jonas’ claim in his divorce filing that their children had lived in Florida for six months, which would make it easier for a court in that state to decide custody issues.

She appears to claim that an argument on August 15 was the main trigger for their separation and that the couple subsequently agreed “with some hesitation” to let the children travel to the US to accompany their father on tour. Early reports focused on Jonas’ alleged devotion to her children after briefly raising them alone, but critics later defended Turner, pointing out that her job required her husband to share some of the burden for a limited period of time shared that Jonas should not be praised for fulfilling his parental duties.
