Randy Gregory was the first player traded away from the Denver Broncos this season, but he may not be the last, league sources told ESPN.
The Broncos have also received calls about other players on their roster and could be active before the Oct. 31 trade deadline, depending on how they fare in the next few weeks, according to league sources.
The Broncos (1-3) have received inquiries about Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton over the past two seasons, and Denver’s young wide receivers are also expected to draw more attention in the coming weeks.
Denver’s struggling defense enters Sunday ranked last in the NFL in both points and yards allowed per game, and many sources around the league believe the Broncos would be willing to trade interest in almost any player heard on the defensive.
The Broncos traded Gregory to the San Francisco 49ers on Friday after a week of speculation about the edge rusher’s future in Denver. Sources told ESPN’s Jeff Legwold that Gregory was not present at Denver’s practice facility after he and his representatives requested a release earlier in the week.
Gregory, 30, signed a five-year, $70 million contract with the Broncos in March 2022 but was left out of the starting lineup last week against the Chicago Bears. Since joining the Broncos, he has played in just ten games, recording nine tackles and one sack.
