The 48-year-old actor was found in a vehicle in the center of the capital Seoul with a burning charcoal briquette next to him, Yonhap said, citing police.
Lee Sun-kyun was investigated by the police on suspicion of using cannabis and other psychotropic drugs.
According to several South Korean media outlets, this scandal damaged his image as a successful actor and deprived him of his television appearances and endorsement deals.
