Spain: A huge new yacht estimated at 25 million euros is ravaged by flames

Burnt this week, Italian multi-millionaire Paolo Scuderi’s boat was brand new and should have been an attraction at next September’s Monaco Yacht Show.

The pictures are impressive. The Aria SF, a 45-meter luxury yacht, was destroyed by flames off a Balearic island in Spain last Thursday, our colleagues at Parisian and HuffPost report. The boat, which just came off the shipyard and was launched for the first time in April, belonged to Paolo Scuderi, an Italian multimillionaire.

“The yacht’s seven crew members and nine passengers are all safe and sound. They were taken aboard a Guardia Civil Maritime Service vessel,” Spanish authorities said on Twitter.

“According to the authorities, after three hours of burning, the remains of the boat affected by the fire had to be towed to Ibiza,” explains Le Parisien, who points out that the origin of the fire is not yet known.

This yacht, valued at around 25 million euros, should be one of the attractions at the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show in September, points out The Guardian.

The boat had a gym and a swimming pool. It offered space for up to ten people in five suites.
