On Thursday, the Social Democrat, along with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, visited the Kiev suburb of Borodjanka, where Russian occupation soldiers are believed to have murdered and tortured residents.
During a joint visit with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen to the Kiev suburb of Borodjanka on Thursday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez expressed his shock at the situation on the ground. “It is heartbreaking to see the horrors and atrocities of Putin’s war on the streets of Borodyanka. We will not leave the Ukrainian people alone,” he later wrote on Twitter. Sánchez and Frederiksen met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Ukrainian sources, two more mass graves have just been discovered in Borodyanka. Some of the bodies inside showed signs of torture, he said. Borodyanka is one of the most damaged cities in the capital region. Atrocities committed by Russian units that had since withdrawn were reported from the city. The information has not yet been independently verified.
Frederiksen spoke of war crimes that needed to be documented. “These are also very, very brutal attacks against a civilian population that has done nothing to anyone and just wants to lead a peaceful life, like the rest of us.” She told Danish broadcaster TV2 that Denmark would give Ukraine more supply weapons, but which ones she initially left open.
