Spawn Movie News Todd McFarlane Announces New Writers Jamie

‘Spawn’ Movie News – Todd McFarlane Announces New Writers; Jamie Foxx is still the star – bloody disgusting

As promised, Spawn Creator Todd McFarlane released some big news this afternoon about the planned reboot of the Spawn movie, ending a long period of radio silence on the project.

THR reports that Blumhouse is still on board the ship Scott Silver (Joker), Malcolm Zauberman (Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and Matthew Mixon write the screenplay now.

THR also states: “Jamie Foxx remains committed to the star as the anti-hero first introduced in the comics in 1992, with McFarlane co-producing the film.”

Jeremy Renner was previously hired to co-star alongside Jamie Foxx, but THR’s report reveals that Renner’s involvement in the film is currently up in the air.

It’s been a long, hard road out of development hell with its brand new Spawn feature, which Todd McFarlane originally wanted to direct. However, it appears that he has backed away from those desires as a new director is yet to be linked with the film. At this point, the Blumhouse project is looking for a studio partner, so this is still a developing story for now.

Stay tuned for more Spawn Movies news as soon as we hear about it.

“If we have an A-list actor, A-list producers, A-list writers, do you want to shoot for A-list directors, A-list cinematographers?” McFarlane told . “The answer is ‘of course.’ Let’s keep the momentum going.”

“I grew up in Berkeley, which is a comic town. Todd McFarlane’s Spawn character has always been one of my favorites — a black superhero who wasn’t bullshit, he was cool and touched on modern issues,” Spellman said in a statement. “Myself, Matt Mixon and Scott Silver are committed to honoring what Todd started and what is at the core of Spawn by delivering something that is relevant, offbeat and unlike any other superhero film out there.”

Spawn first appeared in Spawn #1 in May 1992. The character first came to screens in a 1997 film by New Line, starring Michael Jai White, and was covered by HBO in the late 1990s, courtesy of the animated series. Keith David voiced Spawn on the series.

In the comics, Spawn is a former black ops agent who makes a deal with a demon after being betrayed and killed. The demon allows him to return to earth, but when he returns, five years have passed, his wife has moved on, and he roams the earth a disfigured spawn of hell.
