In the only duel on Thursday evening in the Canadian Football League (CFL), two teams meet that have had a difficult start to the season. The Edmonton Elks are yet to claim a win in five games since the start of the season. Their offense is in deep trouble, having only picked up 13 points once this season. Their opponent, the Hamilton Tigers-Cats, got back on track last week by beating the Ottawa Redblacks 21-13. It was also the first win of the season for Orlando Steinauer’s team. Hamilton’s defense was dominant throughout this encounter. She had five sacks and three interceptions, while also limiting Ottawa to 186 passing yards.

Elina Svitolina (76th player in the world) caused quite an upset on Tuesday in the quarterfinals. She defeated the best player in the world, Iga Swiatek, in three sets 7-5, 6-7, 6-2. The Ukrainian is in very good shape at Wimbledon after beating two top 30 players, Elise Mertens (28th in the world) and Victoria Azarenka (20th in the world). This season, Svitolina won top honors at the Strasbourg Open in France. She is seeking her 18th career WTA title.

Aryna Sabalenka (World runner-up) is clearly determined to win her second Grand Slam title of her career. She has lost just one set in five games since the tournament began. This season Sabalenka has won three WTA tournaments including the Australian Open. For the fifth time in her career, she meets Ons Jabeur (sixth player in the world). Sabalenka had the upper hand against her future opponent three times in four times. Moreover, the two players have only crossed swords once on the pitch and it was the Belarusian who won it.
