A 16-year-old from Alabama says her parents spent about $3,000 last year to help her collect every Stanley Cup model and color available.
“I'm obsessed,” Amelia Awad, 16, recently told the Wall Street Journal about the viral drinking cup trend. After getting her first cup a year ago, she now has 67.
Stanley's success is the result of a perfect storm of branding and social media marketing, with TikTok creating an extreme thirst for glasses that has seen Stanley's profits increase tenfold in recent years.

The insulated tumbler, officially called the Stanley Adventure Quencher Travel Tumbler — and also called the “Quencher” or “Stanley Cup” by its loyal fan base — has become a popular product online and has been the star of a number of viral holiday unboxings recently videos and is becoming a much talked about accessory for popular social media influencers in videos that rack up millions of views.
The cup has become so popular online that the TikTok hashtag “#stanleycup” has more than six billion total views, most of which have to do with the cup and not the famous National Hockey League (NHL) championship trophy of the same name.
Videos of customers running through stores in hopes of snagging a limited-edition cup also recently went viral.
“I’m getting trampled for a Target Stanley Valentine’s Cup,” one person wrote in a clip they posted that racked up tens of millions of views on TikTok and X, formerly Twitter.

According to the Journal, Awad has more than 137,000 followers on her TikTok, where she shares videos about her Stanley Cup collection.
The teen told the Journal that her cups weren't just for show. She uses them all.
“If they are rare, I would like to use them more because I am special for having them,” she explained.

The mugs cost between $45 and $50, with limited editions being slightly more expensive.
