Starbucks barista discovers customer’s trick to get free drinks: “order cancelled”




A barmaid discovered the trick Starbucks Used by a customer to get free drinks. An employee at one of the coffee chain’s Massachusetts locations continued to write tick tock cheeky attempt to get a drink without paying. In particular, the employee named Sinead Robbins posted an image of a label on the online app showing a customer who bought just a 5p glass and then tried to trick the bar by putting other requests in the extra section “Order request” included”.

The scammer wrote an additional order on the jar (purchased for 5 cents): “Hi, could I please have a large strawberry mousse with no whipped cream and a lid without a straw,” before adding a cheery “Thank you!” Robbins wasn’t impressed with the app’s scheme. The clip has been viewed over 4.2 million times. “It was kind of fun, but it’s not going to work. We have canceled the order.”

The attempt failed


“Don’t do it,” Robbins added. Many users couldn’t believe that people actually tried the savings trick. “I would have poured the milkshake in the bag,” wrote one user. “Teens watch too many ‘hacks’ on TikToks,” laughed another. “I used to work in a restaurant and people would always do that and ask for extra food in special instructions instead of paying for it?” says another in disbelief. Others said they would just place the order. “Am I the only one who would actually do that for her?? And this is coming from someone who works at Starbucks,” one woman wrote.
