Note for fans of the Starfield game: If you use AMD processors, you will definitely not even notice this error.
The game mainly focuses on space exploration. This means that it is completely normal for the stars to shine brightly. However, some users may not benefit from the game’s many visual effects.
The straw that breaks the camel’s back
Of course the beetles were occurs frequently in recently released games. And the world of video games quickly became familiar with graphical oddities. For example, we may notice that there are many or no eyebrows that are poorly placed.
But if the stars don’t shine in a space exploration game like Starfield, that’s whyThis is a processor error, especially if you use an AMD CPU or central processing unit. In any case, this is not intended to denigrate the brand, but rather to warn of possible errors that often go unnoticed.
Starfield on other CPU models: another bug?
This phenomenon was recently highlighted in a Reddit post titled “Dear AMD Card User,” which succinctly exposed a bug on Starfield. This processor error was explained in simple words on a AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.
To check the extent of the problem, we reproduced this anomaly by running the game on two different graphics cards. Above all on an RTX 4080 and an RX 6950 XT. The result is impressive: on the first card you can see a glowing ball in the sky. On the second side, however, all that remains is an abysmal spatial emptiness without any source of light.
The Reddit post further theorizes that this problem extends to planets with atmospheres. In these cases the game is fails to faithfully recreate a sun. Instead, it merely represents an indistinct point of light in the sky.
However, it seems that this peculiarity lies in the way Starfield depicts planets. Simply because we observed a similarity between them AMD and Nvidia graphics cards. And this regardless of the type of atmosphere present, whether light atmosphere or class M atmosphere.
Why this error on AMD processors?
The exact reason for this error in AMD processors on Starfield is still unknown. Another question arises: Are those responsible at AMD aware of this error? If so, do you have that? I have already made the necessary corrections ?
In any case, this bug is not currently mentioned in the Known Issues section of the latest release notes. Update AMD drivers.
A fascinating observation also deserves our attention. Despite the obvious use of an AMD GPU in the Xbox version of Starfieldit appears that this platform is not affected by the same issue.
As much as I enjoy it #Starfield, no one told me it was really polished/bug-free, lol. Had almost as many bugs as any other Bugthesda title. Locked out of missions, doors, hard crashes, camera glitches, fast travel errors, clipping, etc. Here is a selection of all my own clips #XboxShare pic.twitter.com/tQuemzMdU6

A simple curiosity and not a problem that could affect the gaming experience
It is important to emphasize that this error is in no way a problem A major problem that could affect the gaming experience. Rather, it is a curiosity that could go unnoticed if not reported.
However, it’s still surprising that such an anomaly would occur in a game that Todd Howard said would have benefited from it Contribution from AMD engineers in its codebase.
The most unusual aspect is that this issue appears to only affect GPUs from a specific manufacturer. This peculiarity raises questions, especially since this provider was already involved in the development of the game before its release.
We sincerely hope soA fix will be available soonso that the sun shines again for loyal Radeon graphics card users.
