Aged 41 and after 20 Grand Slam titles, the Swiss announced a week ago that after 25 years of a remarkable career, after that meeting in London under the watchful eyes of his family, he was retiring because of a right knee that was causing him too much pain prepared.

It was Rafael Nadal who got the serve first, winning his engagement 40-15 for the European team, which leads 2-1 against the rest of the world after the first three singles.

But the sporting use of this game does not matter in the face of the departure of a sacred monster of tennis and even the sport that has received tributes from the greatest of the discipline such as Pete Sampras, against whom he had won one of the first of many legendary matches his career.

Federer has already hinted that he intends to stay involved with tennis after retiring from the sport, without specifying in what form.
