Starting this Monday, March 4, two new changes will be implemented in the CBP One appointment system. According to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the changes are essential for better service.
One of the changes concerns the introduction of new schedules. For example, the time window for appointment requests is shortened to 11 hours and 59 minutes per day. This limits reservations to between 12:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time in the United States.
This important adjustment will improve process management and security. Misuse of the system is also avoided and planning for applicants is made easier. Experts believe that the system will continue to collapse in any case.
As is well known, tens of thousands of appointments are made every day and only 1,450 places are allocated every day. They are spread out at eight checkpoints along the more than two-thousand-mile-long border between the United States and Mexico.
Tour groups
Another change affects travel groups. Homeland Security announced that from now on all members must have a common destination address in the United States. Only then can you request a joint appointment.
This simplifies group verification and ensures that all members have legitimate and coordinated intentions.
The appointment confirmation process now includes a geolocation check and a liveness check. Users have 23 hours after notification to complete these steps.
If you haven't started requesting an appointment yet, you can follow the steps below.
