STAT: Normand D’Amour is impatient to learn more about the sequel – Showbizz.net

Our weaning from STAT for the summer period has hardly begun when we are already despairing of knowing the rest of the plot. And we’re not alone: the actors from Radio-Canada are also dancing around, eager to know what their characters can expect this fall.

This is particularly true of Normand D’Amour, aka Pascal St-Cyr, oncologist and head of professional services at Saint-Vincent Hospital. This one had a busy final episode when his old friend Gabriel (Jean-Nicolas Verreault) woke from his coma and screeched in his face and was invited to attend the birthday party of his son Siméon (Benjamin Gratton), who is unaware of his parents’ identities .

Will the mystery of Siméon’s paternity be revealed by the start of STAT season 2? Will Pascal St-Cyr keep chasing his inner demons? Will we find out what really happened to Gabriel and if Pascal had a role to play in the events?

Normand D’Amour, when we ask him all these questions in the interview, doesn’t let us languish for long by proclaiming that he knows “fuck all” (nothing at all, editor’s note) about what he and his colleagues know expected. STAT filming will not resume until July. He just agrees to slip us the only mini-hint he’s gotten so far…

“We met afterwards, we looked back over the year with (the author) Marie-Andrée Labbé, Fabienne (Larouche, producer) and all. All I can say is that all we know is that it will happen two or three weeks after the final. We don’t know more at the moment…”

So let’s stuff ourselves with these few crumbs! For the rest, Normand D’Amour says that he is filled with this protagonist by Pascal St-Cyr, who offers him a lot of material to get into his game.

“I think he’s super cool, this guy. Yes, he’s in control of the business, but he has no choice; It’s a hospital! And we understand why he is like this: he was hit by his father, he saw his father hit his mother… It is certain that he has a certain violence in him. Slowly he begins to understand, to develop. What I love about my characters is seeing them develop, and this character does just that. »

In addition, STAT has a hit with audiences that fills the actor with joy.

“Our mission was to make ‘District 31’ a little forgotten. It was a big task! And I think we’ve arrived. We may not be there yet, but with 1.6 million (viewers) and 35% market share in eight months, it’s still pretty amazing! We are very proud. Fabienne is happy, we are a great group of actors and above all we have an incredible author, Marie-Andrée Labbé. I take my hat off to this girl who, in these eight months, has managed to keep people in suspense with stories and all these characters. We are 13…! »

“The workload isn’t that bad yet, filming,” continued Normand D’Amour. “You get the impression that you work a lot on a daily basis, but on average I work three or four days a week and some days I only have two scenes. And others, I have 12. But it’s well distributed. And the gang, the tech, the production, they’re super hot, they’re super trained. I am great! »

Author Marie-Andrée Labbé spoke to us here about a topic she has proudly covered in STAT, and here about the collaboration she has developed with someone close to her. Actor Lou-Pascal Tremblay, who plays the mysterious Jacob at the heart of the big storyline, also shared his own take on the STAT finale here.

Normand D’Amour will appear in the play Le Diner de Cons throughout the summer, the review of which you can read here. We can also see him in the film The Purgatory of Intimacy available on the Crave platform, where he engages in a particularly badass performance.
