The last episode of this week in STAT provoked numerous reactions, while the medical team had to face a moral and ethical dilemma that caused viewers to react violently.

Earlier this week, we learned that the Saint-Vincent hospital ethics committee, after deliberation within the team, had decided that the liver of one of the victims of the LGBTQ+ bar shooting would go to the shooter, who needed a transplant.
So at the end of the half hour on Thursday February 24th, although the donations are anonymous, the victim’s parents (Isabelle Cyr and Patrice Coquereau) understand that the person who is saved thanks to her daughter is none other than the one who killed her. Not surprisingly, they have a hard time digesting this information.
Obviously, this is a topic that also causes a lot of reactions and tensions in the team in the episode, while Jacob (Lou Pascal Tremblay) pressed Emmanuelle (Susanne Clemens) at the beginning of the episode.

The same story on the other side of the screen, on the side of the viewers, many of whom were talking about it on social networks. While many have great difficulty accepting the fact that the killer was rescued by one of his victims and understanding the parents’ reaction, others remember that it is a doctor’s duty to do whatever is necessary to save their patients .

The doctor on Twitter Alain Vadeboncoeurwho is a medical advisor to the authors of STAT, recalled that in addition to ethics, the notion of urgency also plays a role.
It must be assumed that this is the most urgent thing on the list in order to adequately resolve the question and that without this belief he would die. Once these premises are established, one can wonder if this context is enough to cause someone to die.
