Stocks make the biggest after-hours moves: NXP Semiconductors, Whirlpool and more

Cadence Design Systems — Shares fell 4% after the company released its second-quarter results. Revenue in the company’s product and maintenance category was $922.8 million, according to StreetAccount, compared to analyst estimates of $928.8 million. Services revenue also missed expectations, coming in at $53.8 million compared to $57.9 million expected by analysts.

Whirlpool – Shares of the kitchen and laundry company fell 2% after a mixed earnings announcement. Whirlpool reported adjusted earnings per share of $4.21, beating Refinitiv analysts’ estimate of $3.76 per share. Meanwhile, revenue fell short of estimates, with Whirlpool reporting $4.79 billion compared to analysts’ forecasts of $4.82 billion.

NXP Semiconductors – Shares rose 1% after the chipmaker released its latest quarterly results. NXP reported adjusted earnings per share of $3.43 on revenue of $3.3 billion. According to Refinitiv, analysts had estimated earnings per share of $3.29 and revenue of $3.21 billion. The company’s forecast earnings for the third quarter also beat analysts’ estimates.

F5 Networks — Shares of the cloud-based software company rose 7% after it posted revenue and earnings growth in the fiscal third quarter. F5 posted adjusted earnings per share of $3.21 on sales of $703 million. According to Refinitiv, analysts were expecting earnings per share of $2.86 and revenue of $699 million.
