Storms around the south of the province

Storms: around the south of the province

Published on July 18, 2023 at 11:37 am

Humidity persists in southern and eastern Quebec. This leads to some pretty high feelings and, yes, once again the threat of thunderstorms. Forecast.

Still a little heaviness

In the south and east of the province, sentiment will again be above the 30 mark on Wednesday. In Outaouais, in the greater Montreal area, in Estrie, in Beauce, in the Capitale-Nationale and in Gaspésie, the maximum temperatures are between 24° and 27°, but the perceived humidity between 31 and 34° will be the most intense.

Thunderstorm 1 (2)

The Americans are still on alert

Although humidity is lower than it has been over the past few days, it’s still enough to fuel storm potential in those areas. The system that caused flooding in Pennsylvania on Monday is moving northeast. Vermont, New York, New Hampshire and Maine are on flood alert again.

Thunderstorm 2 (2)

A stormy potential

This system will affect southern and eastern Quebec. Estrie, Beauce, then Bas-Saint-Laurent and New Brunswick could be affected by violent thunderstorms late afternoon and early evening Tuesday. We are therefore talking about the possibility of strong gusts, large hailstones and of course sudden heavy rains.

Thunderstorm 3 (2)

Less intense north of the river

Thunderstorms could occur in the Montérégie, the Montreal region, the Outaouais, the Laurentians and all sectors on the north bank of the St. Lawrence. However, since there is less energy available, they should not be violent.
