As a Star Trek show comes to an end, a new one is about to take its place. This afternoon, ahead of its May 5 release, Paramount Plus unveiled a brand new trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, promising new worlds for Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and the crew of the USS Enterprise.

Set decades before the original series, the new show will see Pike, who was last seen as the captain of Michael Burnham and his crew in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery, and lead the Enterprise to explore new worlds and make contact with societies and cultures. Seeing Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck as recurring characters Number One and Spock, respectively, is a huge treat for longtime fans of the franchise, and it’s hard not to be excited to see the Enterprise’s other crew – from future greats like Celia – as well Rose Kadett Uhura to the fascinating newcomer who is Christina Chongs La’an Noonien-Singh.

As in the last trailer, the romance of space is very strong here, as Pike barely expresses reticent glee at loving his job. It also gives a better idea of the action (both on foot and in the spaceship) and romance that awaits the Enterprise crew during their journey from planet to planet, because it wouldn’t be Star Trek without some thrills. Whatever worlds they go to, we know it won’t be the last we see of one of this crew. Not only was it greenlit for a second season before the premiere of season one, the show recently snapped up Vampire Diaries alum Paul Wesley as future Enterprise captain James T. Kirk.

Take a look below at the show’s new poster, which features fellow stars Babs Olusanmokun as Doctor M’Benga, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Bruce Horak as Hemmer and Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas.
