The first look at Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2 fell on Tuesday morning – and it’s impressive.
It’s clear that the last two episodes of this season of the hugely popular Netflix series will be filled with adventure, intense horror and, of course, comedy. The pair of Vol. 2 episodes will have a total running time of nearly four hours, Netflix noted. And of course, the trailer is set to “Running Up That Hill,” the 1985 song by Kate Bush, made famous more than 30 years later thanks to its use in Vol. 1.
The Vol. 2 trailer has been kept under wraps, meaning it was not shared with the media before it was available for all to view online Tuesday morning. There’s a lot to learn from the preview, but producer/director Shawn Levy seemed to sum it up best in a recent interview with .
“Having seen those last two episodes, they are as emotional as they are cinematic,” he said. “Holy shit, they’re definitely eye candy, but they hit you right in the heart. So, that’s what I’ll say about that.”
Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 was overwhelmingly well received and currently holds an 89 percent stake on Rotten Tomatoes. The release of the first seven episodes of the season also broke a viewership record for Netflix.
According to the streamer’s internal measurement, Stranger Things reached 286.79 million hours of watch time worldwide from May 25-27. That surpasses the previous record-holder, Bridgerton season two, which had 193 million hours of watch time during its opening weekend in March.
Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2 will be available for streaming on July 1st.
