Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp comes out as gay

Actor Noah Schnapp, best known for playing Will Byers in the Netflix series Stranger Things, has come out as gay. In a video posted to his TikTok account, the actor wrote, “When I finally told my friends and family I’m gay after 18 years of closet anxiety, they just said we know.” In Referring to his character Will Byers in the hit Netflix series, he added in his caption, “I think I’m more like Will than I thought I was.” In the video, the actor lip-syncs to an audio clip saying: “You know what it never was? So serious. It was never that serious. Honestly, it will never be that serious.”

In July, Noah Schnapp addressed his Stranger Things character Will’s sexual orientation in an interview with Variety, in which he confirmed that Will has romantic feelings towards his best friend Mike (Finn Wolfhard). “Now that he’s gotten older, they’ve made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear he’s gay and loves Mike,” he told Variety.

Best known for his starring role in Stranger Things, Noah Schnapp has also acted in a number of films including Steven Spielberg’s historical drama Bridge of Spies (2015) and he also voiced for Charlie Brown’s character in the animated film The Peanuts that same year. He also starred in Abe, Waiting for Anya and Hubie Halloween. He has also been part of a few music videos including LA Devotee, See You and In My Feelings.

The Netflix series Stranger Things is a smash hit starring Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder and David Harbour, among others. The first season aired in July 2016 and the fourth season premiered in July last year.
