Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp finds himself at odds with rapper Doja Cat after she revealed private messages to him about her interest in his co-star Joseph Quinn.
Quinn portrays Eddie Munson in Season 4 of the Netflix series, a character who quickly became a fan favorite. According to the Huffington Post, the 26-year-old rapper – who recently won her first Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Performance with “Kiss Me More” opposite SZA – privately messaged the 17-year-old actor on his Instagram page sent to inquire about Quinn and asked, “Noah, can you call Joseph to hmu [hit me up]’ followed by ‘wait no. Does he have a girlfriend?”

How the feud between Noah Schnapp and Doja Cat began
Doja Cat (real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini) previously tweeted how attractive she found 28-year-old Quinn when the first volume of Stranger Things Season 4 was released in May. Schnapp responded to her direct messages to say, “LMAOO slide into his DMs,” meaning message Quinn directly. She replied: “I know his IG [Instagram] or Twitter. he has no DM to slip in.”
Schnapp linked her to Quinn’s Instagram and said, “Here ma’am.” However, Schnapp then made a TikTok video leaking the two’s conversation. Doja Cat wasn’t amused.

Doja Cat approaches Noah Schnapp and reveals their conversation
The rapper later livestreamed on TikTok in which she spoke about Schnapp, saying, “The fact that Noah did that when he posted a private conversation between me and him is so incredibly socially unaware and crazy. That’s like border snake shit, that’s like weasel shit. And I’m not saying that includes his entire personality – that’s not how I picture Noah. Maybe he’s something like a whole snake. But I didn’t see him like that.
“I assumed he would be cool about it, and he went and shared information that I didn’t feel comfortable with him sharing.” Doja explained that sharing her private messages is something that she didn’t expect “it’s not normal to do that”.

She began their discussion by addressing Schnapp’s young age, pointing out, “Noah’s a kid, I don’t even know how old he is, but he’s not even over — like he’s definitely not older than 21.” The rapper attributed his youth to why he shared her private messages, continuing, “When you’re that young, you make mistakes. you do stupid shit I try to be super fair. You do stupid shit, you say stupid shit, you screw up relationships with people. you make mistakes You should do this so you know not to do this in the future.
Schnapp deleted his video of the direct messages, but it’s unclear if he removed it before or after the Doja Cat livestream. The actor has not addressed the situation at the time of writing, and neither has Quinn. In response to fans who have continued to comment on the controversy on their social media, Doja Cat tweeted, “You’re all so huddled and lame and no one wants to be hung that’s why you’re here writing unironically in response to this shit drives you insane.” and has temporarily changed her Twitter handle to “I’m better than you”.
