Because food connects us all, in Deglazed, a series about food, Yahoo Life serves up plenty of table talk with people who are passionate about what’s on their menu.
Noah Schnapp has been a household name since bursting onto the scene as Will Byers on the ultra-popular Netflix show Stranger Things in 2016. The ’80s-themed thriller show returns for the second part of its fourth season on July 1, and fans are sitting on the edges of their sofas waiting to see what’s about to happen with their favorite group of friends.
And just like the final season of Stranger Things, food and all things tasty play a big part in the 17-year-old actor’s life. One of his favorite foods? Pizza.
But what kind of pizza would Schnapp have delivered by the Surfer Boy Pizza Van? While his favorite order may be a classic cheesecake, he’s also a fan of heating things up. “When I’m feeling a little spicy, I like a pizza with buffalo chicken,” he says. “I think it’s that good.”
Off-screen, Schnhapp’s guilty pleasure snacking on applesauce bags from the crafting table. “I also love goldfish and of course my tbh (vegan hazelnut spread),” he adds. “I love crunch and I love a mix of salt and sweet. So, to be honest – [I’d dip] something salty in it, like a cracker or something.”

Schnapp’s vegan hazelnut spread led to its partnership with cupcake brand Sprinkles: together, they’re releasing an exclusive, limited-time cupcake flavor that’s a better-for-you version of a snacking classic. The tbh Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcakes are only available on July 1st and 2nd and will be sold at all Streusel bakeries nationwide. “It’s a dark chocolate cake and then in the middle it’s like it’s leaking tbh,” he says of the sweet treat. “Then [there is] Cream cheese frosting on top. I’ve tried it and it’s so good.”
While not following a vegan diet himself, Schnapp wanted tbh to be enjoyed by all. “I love that my hazelnut spread is vegan because I get so much feedback from people saying they’re looking for a spread that’s good and also vegan,” he says.
The story goes on
Schnapp’s fondness for salty-sweet snack combinations would also come into play at his ideal TV binge-watching party with friends. His table of goodies would include chips and salsa and a fun mix of popcorn. “Obviously popcorn, and I think something sweet,” he says, “maybe like M&Ms to do with the popcorn. Honestly, popcorn and a show for me and I’m ready.”
Despite being an actor for a number of years, Schnhapp still gets anxious at times. What soothes his tense nerves is a comforting snack before bed. “Toast with peanut butter and tbh,” he says. “I always have that before bed.”
When he’s looking for a taste of home, Schnapp tries to channel a childhood favorite: his mother’s pasta. “I love just as much as a good pasta,” he says. “A nice pasta with red sauce is just perfect.”
Schnapp says he’s not a picky eater and would eat anything, but there are two things he absolutely wouldn’t touch. “Anchovies and canned tuna,” he says. “I think that’s it. I’m pretty open to eating most things.
So what’s on this ’80s-inspired actor’s dinner party playlist? “I think ‘Running Up that Hill’ deserves a mention,” says Schnapp. “I think it’s my favorite song too. And ‘The NeverEnding Story’ will always be a Stranger Things classic.”
