Last week, Strava introduced a new feature: Flyovers, a 3D video map that recreates the activities users perform to inspire them on their next adventures.

Flyover is a video summary of an activity as if it were filmed from the air, giving Strava subscribers a different look at what they accomplished. A function that is reminiscent of that of Relive, but here in a much simplified version. There is no example, no way to share this overview video, nor a summary of the release at the end.

Rollovers are available for all GPS activity on the subscriber’s profile, including past activity.

Strava users can access overviews by tapping an activity’s map to open a detailed map screen. From there, just click on the flyover button in the bottom right corner and the video will start. The hover feature is currently available on Android devices and will be available on all iOS devices by the end of the year.

This new feature is the latest integration of FATMAP mapping technology into the Strava platform. Since acquiring the adventure platform earlier this year, Strava has introduced additional features for athletes, such as: B. 3D winter maps, map and route creation, custom waypoints, route details and photos via the online route creator.
