From the hands of the epic Christopher Nolan, the film is gripping from beginning to end.
Christopher Nolan is one of the few directors whose name alone is enough to make the audience curious about his films for example, his next feature film Oppenheimer is already on everyone’s lips, although it will not be released in cinemas until July 20, 2023. Whether biopic like Oppenheimer’s, action like the Dark Knight films or war drama like Dunkirk that’s our recommendation here.
Dunkirk, available on HBO Max, is a must see, not only is the story about the Allied siege gripping, but why Nolan directs this WWII story is breathtaking.
While the soldiers stranded on the beach (including Fionn Whitehead and Harry Styles) fight for their lives, the Spitfire pilots (including Tom Hardy) provide air support at the same time a few civilians are cruising under the leadership of Commander Bolton (Kenneth Branagh). from England to France on boats to bring compatriots out of danger.
Dunkirk: THREE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES
On land, sea and in the air, Christopher Nolan lets us experience events from three different perspectives and brings them together so deftly that it feels like everything is happening at once but it isn’t.
Even more impressive, however, is how Nolan, with the help of his cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema’s footage, the score by Hans Zimmer and Lee Smith’s masterful editing, composes the visuals and sound of Dunkirk in such a way that an everincreasing sense of urgency emerges by the minute . No wonder the ticking of a clock plays a big part in Zimmer’s soundtrack.
“Dunkirk” is extraordinary, exciting and incredibly intense a fine cinema experience in the truest sense of the word, with the unmistakable Nolan touch.
