Strictly Come Dancing’s Eddie Kadi reveals similarities that cemented his strong bond with professional dance partner Karen Hauer

Strictly Come Dancing star Eddie Kadi has spoken about his strong bond with his professional partner on the show, Karen Hauer.

Twinkle Toes star Karen, 41, reportedly suffered heartache last week when it was revealed she had split from husband Jordan Wyn-Jones after 16 months of marriage.

But Karen could rely on 40-year-old comedian Eddie to keep her spirits up and their love of laughter to bring them together.

Eddie told the Mirror: “As a comedian you automatically think, ‘I walk into this room and she expects me to make her laugh.’

‘NO! She makes me laugh by just being herself. She was silly from the start. She’ll do random things and all of a sudden she’s on the floor laughing and sticking her legs in the air and I’m like, ‘What?’ I love that girl, she’s crazy.”

The two also bonded over their similar life stories: Venezuelan-born Karen moved to the United States at age eight, while Eddie fled the Democratic Republic of Congo with his family at age nine to escape violent unrest.

Eddie explained: “We literally have the same story.” We both came from a foreign country, she went to New York, I went to London around the same age; We both acquired a new language, a new culture. It’s such a joy.

“We talk about it all the time, about our upbringing.” She wants to know everything about the Congo, I want to know more about Venezuela. It’s still pushing the Bronx harder than Venezuela, but I’m willing to work on it!’

This comes after Karen cut a sombre figure during her appearance on last Saturday’s live show with comedian Eddie amid reports she had split from husband Jordan Wyn-Jones.

The professional dancer and Jordan married last year. She described the ceremony as a “fairytale” at the time, but sources claimed the couple had gone their separate ways after a “tough time”.

Karen, who attended the Pride of Britain Awards this month without her wedding ring, hit the dance floor with comedian Eddie and received just 24 out of 40 for her American Smooth.

Speaking about their split, a source told the Mirror: “Karen and Jordan have had a difficult time over the last few months and have decided to separate.” It’s obviously very sad for both of them.

“But there is no ill will at all.” The separation is amicable and they wish each other all the best.”

Web has contacted a representative for Karen for comment.

In August this year, Karen revealed that she and Jordan had counseling to help them with their relationship.

She said hello! Magazine: “Advice. You know, I think communication is huge, but learning how to communicate, you know, so let’s get outside help.

“So when we have difficult moments or something like that, it’s just about seeing and understanding each other’s vulnerable side and knowing that we’re both working on things because nobody’s perfect.”

She added: “There is no such thing as a happy marriage or a happy relationship with the perfect couple.”

“It’s about dealing with things properly and not just running away from them, and I think that’s what makes us tick even better and understand each other.”

This summer, Karen said she hadn’t decided whether she wanted to have children with her husband, Jordan.

She said hello! Magazine: “There’s always the possibility, but right now I’m really happy living in the here and now with my husband and the dogs.”

“Nothing compares to the love of a dog.” No matter how you wake up, the dogs are always happy to see you with their tails wagging.

“I know it’s going to sound weird, but it’s like having a child, but it’s a furry child.”

Karen was married to former show professional Kevin Clifton from 2015 to 2018.

Although they parted ways this year, they continued to work together until Kevin left Strictly in 2020.

Before her relationship with Kevin, she was married to Matthew Hauer for nine years before they separated in 2009.

Karen married fitness professional Jordan in an intimate ceremony in Hampshire in June last year.

At the time, she described the ceremony as a “fairytale” and gushed about how special it was to bring their families together.

The couple made their relationship public in 2021 when Jordan shared a post asking how he could be “so lucky” to be with Karen.

He wrote: “32 years… definitely worth everything life could offer me to hold you in my arms.” How can a donut like me be so happy to have met my person? I can’t wait to have you home.’
