The track Papaoutai comes from his famous album Racine Carrée, which just celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Stromae follows closely the French artist Indila, who last May, with the track Last Dance, published in 2013, became the first French-speaking artist to have the honor of reaching one billion views on YouTube, brought back to life thanks to TikTok.
Among the songs that have managed to surpass the one billion views mark, Pinkfong’s Baby Shark, Luis Fonsi’s Despacito and Ed Sheeran’s Daddy Yankee and Shape of You come to mind.
